Snippet Manager
Your own library of snippets, with a real page to manage it.
- Manage Snippets opens a page: a searchable list on the left, an editor on the right (name, prefix, language, text). Save, delete, or insert into your file.
- Save Selection as Snippet... turns the selected code into a snippet in two prompts, removing the shared indentation.
- Insert Snippet... shows your snippets (the ones for the current language first) in a list; the lines after the first keep the indentation of the line you are on.
- Export All as VS Code Snippet JSON puts them in a file in the standard format, and Import VS Code Snippet JSON from Selection reads such a file (select its text first).
Good to know
The snippets are kept in this extension's own storage (up to 400, about 1 MB). They are inserted as plain text: tab stops like ${1:name} are kept when you export but removed when you insert here. For snippets you type a prefix and press Tab for, use a snippet pack extension or .ferrum/snippets.json.
