Case Rename

Rename a variable, function, class or constant in every naming style at once. Put the cursor on userName, run Rename in All Naming Styles..., type accountName, and userName, UserName, user_name, user-name and USER_NAME all change to the matching style of the new name.

Dry run first

Before anything changes, a preview panel lists every change with the line before and after and a count per style. Nothing is touched until you press Apply. The change is one undo step. If the file changed while you looked at the preview, it refuses to apply and asks you to run it again.

Two modes

  • Whole names only: userName is renamed but getUserName is left alone.
  • Also inside longer names: getUserName, MAX_USER_NAME and user_name_list change too.

Also

Write Name Under Cursor in Another Style... converts one name to camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case or CONSTANT_CASE.

It works on the file you have open. For a rename across many files, use Search in Files to look first.

No permissions needed.
